Nu börjar året lida mot sitt slut och vi tänkte försöka sammanfatta året som vi har haft.

År 2016 började med att vi fick en praktikant, Modevetarstudenten Martina. Hon var med oss i vårt dagliga arbete i butiken, på möten och i arbetet kring modefestivalen Fashion UP!. I mars arrangerade vi sedan Sveriges första och enda hållbara modefestival Fashion UP! Och oj vad mycket jobb vi lade ner, men vad kul vi hade längs vägen!!
Under våren firade vi också Fashion Revolution Day på Folk tillsammans med fantastiska Cornelia Sun, och visade upp deras fina plagg tillsammans med viktiga budskap och ett quiz kring textilindustrin.

I maj blev vi inbjudna till Amsterdam för att delta i en EU-konferens kring bland annat Kollaborativ ekonomi. Det var spännande att få vara med och påverka i detta forum.  Inför sommaren fixade  vi i ordning i vår lokal och vi fick äntligen vår först hyresgäst Hilda. I augusti hängde vi på Way out west och fotade festivalbesökare och lyssnade på grym musik. Dessutom arrangerade vi Fair Fashion Show under Göteborgs Kulturkalas. Vi har också besökt modeevent som Knitted Investigations med Textilhögskolan och Fashion Week i Stockholm. Under året har vi även drivit remake- projekt tillsammans med Tillskärarakademin och föreläst för studenter på Textilhögskolan. Butiken har också hållits varm genom diverse butiksevenemang med musik, mat och en massa mode.

Mellan alla dessa evenemang, resor och projekt, så har vi över en kopp kaffe ofta suttit och diskuterat vad som händer runt om i världen och hur trötta vi är på att världen ser ut som den gör. Vi är alla delaktiga i vad som händer runt om i världen på ett eller annat sätt, och det är viktigt att vi ser varandra som medmänniskor och att vi hjälps åt. Detsamma gäller såklart inom modeindustrin och en viktig bok som på ett enkelt sätt förklarar textilindustrins baksida är Modeslavar som släpptes under hösten. Vi hoppas på ett mer medvetet och medmänskligare år och att vi får fortsätta att hålla på med det vi älskar. Vi kan redan nu berätta att Fashion UP! kommer tillbaka i maj nästa år:)! Och vi får inte glömma att nämna att vi har vi blivit nominerade till Nöjesguidens Göteborgspris i kategorin mode, stort tack för det!!
