Textilproduktion som vi lägger utomlands. Fabriker där arbetare jobbar utan anständiga arbetsvillkor. Billiga kläder som vi kan konsumera. Massor av arbete till en nästintill obefintlig lön. Status att äga ett nytt plagg.
Vilka är lyckliga? Varken vi eller de som arbetar inom textilindustrin. Dags att vi inser sanningen kring förhållandena i många av de textilfabriker som finns.
Men vad skulle hända om vi inte ”gav” fattiga länder slavarbete i textilfabriker? Hur skulle de då klara sig, vi ger ju dom jobb? Istället för att utnyttjas som billig arbetskraft hade samhället och personerna som drabbas av detta moderna slaveri själva kunnat bygga upp en framtid med val och möjligheter. Precis som du och jag hade de kunnat skapa en egen butik, restaurang, hostel eller vad som helst. Storföretagen måste släppa klorna om andra länders resurser, och vi konsumenter måste ställa om till att konsumera mindre och ÄGA VÅR STIL istället för att äga alla kläder.
